There is a large Tesco in Oban, plus Lidl, Aldi and the Co-Op - but for something a little closer there is Balvicar Stores located right next to the cottage. This little grocer seems to have everything you'll ever need.
There are two pubs on the island, Tigh an Truish by the Atlantic Bridge anda the Oyster Brewery in Ellenabeich. Both serve food from Easter to October, and the Tigh an Truish serves lunches all year round. For the Oyster Brewery booking ahead is adviseable. Tigh an Truish also has a small souvenir shop.
On Easdale Island there is the Puffer Bar and Café. Check opening hours, especially in the winter.
There are several excellent restaurants in Oban, including , a fish restaurant on the North Quay, a neighbouring Italian restaurant under the same management, and the Seafood Temple on the south side of the seafront. The Kitchen Garden is a delicatessen in Oban with a spectacular range of local produce, and a coffee shop upstairs.
The George Hotel in Inveraray makes an excellent stop en route to Glasgow. Also the Loch Fyne Restaurant on Loch Fyne.
